Kèr Qíhtka (/qɪ̞t/ /ka/ [demise] [past]) is a subtropical Town located in Linmead Dutchy, Krièvlùji̊ La Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Kèr Qíhtka is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Qíhtka was founded by Shêyë Foulkes Y̼ùco Cadwaladr, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Qíhtka has a yearly average temperature of 29°C (84°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 26°C (78°F). Kèr Qíhtka receives an average of 198 cm/y (77 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Kèr Qíhtka covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2952 m (9685 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kèr Qíhtka was founded durring the late 12th century in fall of the year 1054, by Shêyë Foulkes Y̼ùco Cadwaladr. The establishment of Kèr Qíhtka suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Kèr Qíhtka was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Qíhtka is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Kèr Qíhtka is is constructed arround a semi-circular restrictive cobblestone mainstreet, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town lacks any defencive features, though certainly constructing even a simple fence or digging a ditch is at the forefront of the 's mind. At least, one would hope so.

A look around Kèr Qíhtka makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power.

Kèr Qíhtka has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Kèr Qíhtka's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Kèr Qíhtka has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Kèr Qíhtka has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Kèr Qíhtka has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Kèr Qíhtka's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its buildings being predominantly formed through the combination of basic geometric shapes. However, it shown in the detailing given to the structures such as its characteristic tall columns, intricate detail, symmetry, harmony, and balance in their designs to an astonishing degree of precision. Decorative elements for the buildings tended to be built into the structure itself, making great use of fluting, frescoes, inlays, and embossing.

In Kèr Qíhtka during thunderstorms, with each flash of lightning, everyone sees different monsters from the corner of their eyes.

The Missing Lynx near Kèr Qíhtka are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Kèr Qíhtka's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves gestures to channel Mysticism energies of tier 3 via recitation of scripture.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Kèr Qíhtka was struck by a devistating earthquake. The quake brought ruin to Kèr Qíhtka, which lost 165 people, 154 livestock, and 72 buildings in the earthquake. The day of the quake is remembered by many as Damnation's Day.
